A sister's love

Yesterday, my 2 year old had an accident and her nose would not stop bleeding. She was screaming and crying and it was very difficult to console her. I was trying not to freak out, dealing with a 10 month old, trying to make sure that he didn't get in anything, and had a 3 year old that wanted to follow her sister around everywhere. I desperately tried to get my 3 year old to go play with my 10 month old and hopes that it will help keep both of them out of trouble.
The day is gone better than most, I had just finished cleaning the kids room and moved on to clean the kitchen. There was a movie on for the kids in the living room in the kids were playing just fine. All of a sudden I hear Railee's scream. I looked out the door expecting to see Railee fussing because she wasn't getting her way. That's usually the case, but not this time.
There my 2 year old stood shaking and bleeding from her nose. She was terrified and hurting. I immediately ran to her, snatched her up, ran her to the bath tub and started a warm shower to clean her up and calm her down. It felt like forever that she cried and bled. I was on and off the phone with my sister in law (a mom of 3 boys), my step dad (past EMT) and my husband who was on his way home from work.
I got her calmed, cleaned and dressed as I rushed to get ready to take her to the ER. My husband showed up just in time to take her so I could stay home with our 3yo and 10mo. I know what you're thinking, "you should have gone" or "you are mom, it's your place to go" but I would of had to take my 10mo with me and the ER is no place for a healthy baby and having him would have not let me put all my attention on my 2yo that needed it.
The whole time Railee was gone, Leah sat at the window waiting for her sister to come home. "Where's Railee?" "Mommy, is Railee ok?" My 3yo desperately wanted her sister to be OK. Leah had followed me around while I took care of Railee, she had hugged Railee as Railee left, she kept telling Railee she's ok, Leah helped to try to keep Railee awake and she had sat at the window waiting for her sister's return. At the time I was frustrated with Leah because I needed Leah to help with her brother but she just wanted her sister to be OK.
Looking at it now, I saw just how much Leah adores her sister. I saw my 3 YEAR OLD try to care for her sister. Today, she is staying by Railee and trying to make sure Railee's nose doesn't start up again or make sure Railee doesn't get hurt again. My prayer is that they are always this way, that they always look after each other. I pray that they always pick each other up and dust each other off. When one doesn't have the strength, the other shares their strength and that is what amazed me.
